Barbara Holzapfel, age 68 passed away in Valencia, California after a very brief illness with her loving daughter, Sherie and grand daughter, Faith by her side. Barbara spent the last year of her life in the Santa Clarita Valley surrounded by family and friends while still maintaining her real estate business in La Quinta, California. Even while battling cancer and in very serious condition in the hospital, she was working feverishly to close a real estate deal with the help of her daughter. Upon her release from the hospital, she spent the last few weeks of her life arm-chair quarterbacking the closing of the real estate deal and she wouldn't have had it any other way! Barbara's work ethic and professionalism throughout her 18 year career at TRW Space & Defense and then 25 years as a real estate agent were astonishing. Barbara was truly a wonderful mother and grand mother and was blessed with two children, Sherie Dexter of Valencia, CA and Jack Clark, Jr., of Santa Clarita, CA. Barbara was also blessed with six wonderful grandchildren, Jack Clark III and Christine Clark of York, Pennsylvania; Kaitlyn Rhoten of Tucson, Arizona; Faith Rhoten of Valencia, California and Tyler and Alexandra Clark of Santa Clarita, California. Barbara was predeceased by the love of her life, her loving husband, Sherwood Holzapfel on September 3, 2005; her parents Nan and Jim Burrill of Chesapeake, Virginia and her brother Garey Burrill of Maryland. Barbara was also predeceased by her constant companion Teddy II on September 5, 2010. It was Barbara and Sherwood's wishes that their ashes be scattered together at sea in Lahaina, Maui where they began their lives together so many years ago. Barbara's family has scheduled services for February 8, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in Lahaina, Maui.
