Obituary

Dan's family has decided to show honor to him by spreading his ashes in the place he most loved, Hawaii. He loved the beauty and traditions of Hawaii, it was his utopia. Dan married Mary Tatum who feels blessed to have been granted partnership with him. They had a full happy life and experienced the kind of love that many people will never have. Dan was Mary's dream, her companion and her best friend. They have two children, Jeni & Brandon. They also have two grandsons Joseph & Jacob who Dan often referred to as Betty Lou & Sally Sue. Dan was a remarkable husband, father and grandfather during his 65 year journey on this earth. He was incredibly funny, often known as a jokester, a tease and he tried his best to keep things stirred up. He taught us all how to treat people with respect & dignity while enjoying life. Dan was completely devoted to his family. He could never say enough about the unconditional love he had for each family member. Dan had so many great stories to tell about his grandsons which created so many happy times and laughing times. He was a great friend to so many people and we will all cherish our memories of him forever. In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you fade away, our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay, but when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain, we could not wish you back to suffer that again. Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your spirit lives within us, forever in our hearts. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
