Obituary

Ian Salamaca Galan, 52, passed away peacefully by her own decision with her husband and closest family by her side on August 30, 2023, after battling Congestive Heart Failure and Diabetes. She was born in the Philippines 3/12/1971 and later became a U.S. Citizen on 08/22/2017.

She is survived by her husband Lester Galan, stepchildren Nikoles and Naomi, parents Rubin and Teresita, brother Gail, sister-in-law Julissa, niece and nephew Alina and Tristan, aunts Blanca, Delia, Lani, Lorna and Naomi, uncles Carlos, Greg, Henry, Vher, cousins Amie, Daniel, Henry, Michael, Kimmie, Justin, sister-in-laws Josephine, Juliet, and Janice.

Ian was the eldest daughter of Rubin and Teresita Salamanca and the eldest of all of her closest cousins.  Being the eldest, by default she looked after her younger brother and cousins.  There are many times where she kept track of where they were in life from a distance and did not interfere, only to know that they were ok. Without them knowing she was always looking out after them. She loved and cared for her family and was always there for them.

Ian worked as a loan processor for 20+ years working for both large and small mortgage companies.  Ian was also a Notary with focus on loan signings. Ian had a personality with an infectious laugh, a great sense of humor, and was very caring to those close to her.

Ian had many hobbies.  She loved to listen to music, she listened to a variety of genres. Her playlist included music from all generations, it was always a mystery what she would play, sometimes Easy E would be playing as she rapped or she would be dancing, singing and rocking out to ABBA.  She had the love for video games and considered herself a game nerd.  She played on her Nintendo game system collections or on her oculus, game aps on her cell phone, or on her computer. She also loved to watch anime and Korean dramas. She also loved traveling to places with comfortable temperatures.  Her favorite places to visit were the Hawaiian Islands to eat, explore, and shop. Going to Hawaii allowed her to feel like a normal person with no disabilities.  Ian renewed her wedding vows with her husband Lester at Kukio Beach, Big Island in July 2017 where she later requested it to be her final resting place if anything should ever happen to her..

Ian, you will always be loved, remembered and always in our hearts.  May you rest in eternal peace.
