Lovingly known by friends as "Jim" and family as "Jamie," peacefully departed us on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Sparks, Nevada, at the age of 85. Born in Berkeley, California, he was the youngest of three children. He was raised in California and graduated from U.C. Berkeley. He settled in Honolulu, Hawaii for most of his career before retiring to Nevada. Jim was free-spirited and enjoyed the simple things in life, especially a good round of golf. He will forever be remembered for his incredible wit, great sense of humor, and his compassion for everyone he met. He touched the lives of many people whose paths in life crossed his with his integrity, perseverance, and sincerity. A humble soul, you will be dearly missed. The Broken Chain We little knew that afternoon that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. (Anonymous) A'hui hou (until we meet again), Your Ohana
