Obituary

"I feel so lucky that I was able to make my end of life decisions. I, along with my wife of 33 years, Virginia, were able to write my own obituary. Several components of my body were failing. How much effort is expended to live another day? I saw my future filled with tests, appointments, procedures, etc. A flicker of time in relationship to this earth. No, not for me.....I wanted to do more traveling and enjoy what was left of retirement. We did - fast track to Germany. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska. My job ventures led me to Alaska Airlines and where I met my future wife. Very seldom did I refuse an opportunity for adventure. My travels took me to several exciting places and meeting several fabulous people along the way both at and away from work. Don't leave anything undone....if you want to kiss a koala bear, have dinner at the Eiffel Tower, walk the Temple grounds of Narita or jump out of an airplane - DO IT. Make your end of life decisions with forward vision and while you are able. "It is not the years in your life, It is the life in your years." Thank you Abe Lincoln, so true. In my travels, I have learned: Enjoy and support the arts; unlike me they will live forever. Have faith in God and Church. I was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and my wife and I were sealed together for time and eternity. Enjoy family and friends. I leave my wife, Virginia; my mother-in-law, Edith (also a great traveling partner); five sisters; and my dogs, Faith and Sir Dusseldorf. No Regrets for me! Burial in Germany will be set at a later date."
