Obituary

Jack entered into eternal life peacefully in his sleep on June 1, 2016.  He was 81 years old.  Jack loved music all of his life and was one of the best steel guitar players.  He started playing when he was 9 years old and continued to play for the rest of his life.  Music is what brought him and his beloved Sonya together in 1951 (he was 16 and she was 13).  He was the steel guitar player and she was the singer.  On November 7, 1953 Jack and Sonya were married.  They had two sons, Jere and Jeff.  They had three grandchildren, Britney, Justin and Jeffrey - to them he will always be their "Papa". Jack worked for the phone company for over 30 years in Southern California.  Then he retired to his "dream" location of Minden, Nevada (looking up at the Sierra Mts.).  It was there that Jack returned to work as a security guard for Harrah's of South Lake Tahoe and worked for 12 more years.  While up in Minden, Ramblin Jack had started his own Country Western Swing band and played in and around the area.  Jack owned a red 1967 GTX Plymouth Belvedere, that he loved dearly.  Him and Sonya belong to two classic car clubs and had many friends. Jack loved animals especially German Shepherd dogs, over his life he always had one or two or three.  Maui was a special place for him and Sonya.  It was their place.  They have been there together 10 times, celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and love.  Jack was a gentleman who loved his beloved "Honey" and family more than anything.  He spoke with HONESTY. Thought with SINCERITY. Acted with INTEGRITY and LOVE.  He will be MISSED GREATLY! WE LOVE YOU PAPA!!
