Karen K.
Ordonio
Nov 16, 1942 — Aug 8, 2021
Chula Vista
Karen K. Ordonio passed away on August 4, 2021, in Sacramento, California. Karen was born in Maywood, CA., but her family moved to Missouri where she spent her childhood. As an adulthood, she lived many places before settling in Chula Vista, CA.
Karen was preceded in death by husband, David Manuel Ordonio in 2002, and her parents, Kathryn and Wilbur. Karen is survived by her sons, David, Steven; daughters, Kimberly, Kathryn, Kathleen; seven grandchildren, Faith, Grace, Natalie, Wyatt, Phoenix, Kylie, and Chandler; and three great grandchildren, David, Gideon, Katalina, and her brother, Monty.
She was a supportive and hard-working mother who endured the multiple moves of a military life. Favorite duty station of course was Oahu. This is where the family exploded, as the story was told; they arrived there with one 4-year-old and left with five children three years later. And the quote we always heard, "It must've been something in the water." Karen was recognized in Oahu as having the first set of triplets at Castle Memorial Medical Center, formerly Castle Memorial Hospital in Kailua, November, 1971.
She lived an active life working, volunteering, achieving a bachelors with Phoenix University and eventually retiring from the US. government. She enjoyed her retirement life by taking many vacations to New York City, Mexico, Hawaii, Australia, and New Zealand.
Her remains will be scattered in the Hawaiian waters, per her wishes, on a private charter memorial service at sea. Her children will celebrate her life on her 80 th birthday in Hawaii.
We ask that everyone who cared and loved her to please take a moment on her birthday, November 16 th at 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time to reflect on the special and great times shared with her.
