Mary J Edwards' Obituary
Mary Jane Edwards was born on 4/19/1942 and she went home to be with the Lord on 9/12/2015. Mary was born in New Albany, MS and the oldest of eight children born to Willie and Earl Edwards.
Early in her childhood, Mary moved to Racine, WI with her family where she lived most of her adult life. She got married in 1964 which resulted in two children, April Smith of Upper Marlboro, MD and Corey Ramsey of Minneapolis, MN.
Mary was a kind and loving person. She grew up in the church and loved the Lord. She sang in the choir and dedicated her life to serving God. She had a zest for life, she loved to travel and read. And on any winter evening, you would find her crocheting an afghan or some slippers as a gift.
Mary loved to cook for those she loved, everyone loved her food and there was always a request being made, all you had to do was ask, she never said no. Her lemon meringue pie was the best and there was always a request for one of her homemade cakes or pies.
Mary loved her children dearly, she often said they were her reason for living. She was a strong-willed woman with great tenacity and as a single parent, she raised two beautiful successful children to be the same way. She was very proud of them both.
Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her but never forgotten.
