Obituary

Lori Rowser-Daughter

Minnie was born and raised in North Carolina and proud of it, my mom was the best mother a girl can have. I loved being the only daughter. Miss Minnie was so caring, friendly, beautiful and loving to everyone she came in contact with. Always thought about others before she thought about herself.

Mommy was the best cook ever! She loved to cook, but never thought her food was good enough. I always, thought as a little girl and as an adult, that her food was always the best. I miss her cooking.

I learned so many things from my mom. Just be happy in life, tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. Her love of people, traveling and just enjoying life in general has rubbed off on me.

Mom did not give many hugs, but when she gave you a poem or message on a card or coin, it was just like a big hug. I really treasure a coin she gave me that says, "My precious child I love you during your times of trial and suffering it is then I carry you."

I really hope you enjoyed our little talks and the flowers I would bring you. You mean everything to me. I took care of you and dad on earth. Now Barry is taking care of you and dad in heaven. I'm okay. Now you can rest. I love you forever. I will see you and dad at the pearly gates and make sure Barry doesn't lock me out.

Mama Minnie, I'll never forget your love and your support, your perseverance, or your sense of humor.  May you rest easy and find peace.

Granddaughter Jamila Rowser

Grandma, I feel you when I'm in pain. When my back hurts so much I have to bend over to do the dishes. When I have a migraine so bad, but I don't have the opportunity to rest. I have to push through. I think of all the times you had to do the same. I feel your forced resilience and remember your tiredness. I remember your strength the world forced you to have, and how you so worked hard, through it all, without complaint. I feel you comforting me during the hardest times. Reminding me to do something you did not get to do often, rest. When I'm resting, I feel you and your love next to me; finally, being able to rest, too.

Daughter In Law Magalis Rowser

To my loving Minnie (Mom) in heaven and with Barry by her side, thank you for always loving us and guiding our family.  Minnie (Mom), I always cherish your beautiful smile, your gentle voice, your fine taste for the good things in life.  Always willing to try new adventures and visit us in the countries we were stationed at.  You were the greatest listener.  Your knowledge, wisdom, and insight always enlighten our minds.  Always finding the good in every person.  Choosing to be a nurse was definitely a blessing,  You were always needed to assist others, a noble lady and nurturing mother.   As a professional nurse you had a nursing soul that always took care of others, before self.  Your non-stop energy was always fueled by all the kindness you gave to everyone, at home, at work, at church and with all your family and friends.   Such a giving person.  Devoted to family, friends and community.  I know you are with us, and we will always miss you with all our hearts, until we meet again.  Love Magaly

Son Bruce Rowser

My life success is because of you.  You taught me right from wrong, how to raise a family, support my wife, and be a father to my children.  I watched the daily battles you faced in maintaining your  career as a nurse, and as a loving and caring mother who still made time to ensure we had food on the table, and stay on top of of our education.  I saw your undying spirit and drive to do the right thing no matter what others may say about you.  Life was not easy for you but you managed to make our lives easier through your love and dedication to make sure we had a bright future. I will forever be grateful for your sacrifice. Watching you work full time, and being a full time mom and earning your Nursing degree has and still is an inspiration for me.  When ever I feel that life is getting too hard for me, I think about your life struggles and the racism you had to endure as an African American woman growing up in North Carolina. You overcame all of that.  You continue to inspire me to be a good man, husband and father.

My treasured memoires is the traveling we did when you would visit me and Magaly overseas.  We shared many great times from picking strawberries in England watching lava flow from the big Island into the ocean. I got my traveling spirit from you and I am so glad you were able to travel and experience the world traveling with us.

Most of all mom, I am grateful and proud to have you as my mother.  Mom, I think of you everyday, your laugh, your smile.  A woman with the love of God in her soul, blessed me with her love and spirit.  Thank you mom.  I love you.

Proverbs 31:25-30

25   Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
26   She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27   She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28   Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29   "Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all."
30   Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
