Robert A. Green

Robert ("Bob") A. Green passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. He was 90 years old. Bob was born in Springfield, MA, and lived in Trenton, NJ from the age of 7. Following graduation from Trenton High School, he attended the Julliard School of Music until he was drafted. He served in the Army Combat Engineers during World War II in Europe. Bob attended Nichols College after the war and graduated in 1948. Bob married Rose in 1952, and in 1959 the family moved to northern California. In 1966, Bob, Rose and their two daughters settled in Palo Alto. Bob spent most of his very successful career in the insurance business, including 20 years with State Farm Insurance. Bob retired in 1986, and in retirement enjoyed playing music, traveling with his wife in the U.S. and abroad, and playing racquetball and tennis. Bob is survived by his wife Rose, daughters Ellen and Sharon, son-in-law Alan, and granddaughters Beatrice and Julia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community School of Music and Arts or the Stanford Jazz Workshop.
