My Husband always loved Hawaii. His father was living on the island of Oahu at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor. We have a letter dated January 3, 1942 that his father Roy is referenced in. Scott lived on Oahu for several months between graduating college and starting work at National Semiconductor where we met. He loved to tell stories about working as a bouncer in bars in Waikiki and finding out that was a bad idea with how big the Hawaiians are. Some took a shine to him and took him cliff jumping. He impressed them by actually diving off. Our first vacation together was in 1983 to Waikiki, Oahu and Kihei, Maui. Every time we went to Hawaii I bought a charm at the International Market Place with the year on it. I have 1983, 86, 87, 91, 92, 94, 97, 98 and 2004 - we were planning out next trip. Our son Jake Lewis was born May 4, 1994 and passed away May 6, 1994. He had Trisomy 13. We talked about releasing his ashes in Hawaii but it was too far away, we talked about the Pacific just off the coast of California but it's too cold. Now that Scott is gone, releasing them together feels like the right thing to do. Mahalo, Carol *A TRIBUTE TO SCOTT ALLEN* by Ardyce Kehiayan When one asks: Who was Scott to you? Inevitably you hear "handsome, those mischievous eyes, his light humor, and you never can tell if he's serious!" One thing was never in doubt. He lived for his wife and children! And you can tell by this picture that he delighted their souls. For those of us in CVRWF We knew him as a patriot! He loved our country, and even though he wanted to spend all his free time with Carol and the girls, he supported wholeheartedly Carol's role as CVRWF President. No words are sufficient to describe those who are faithful to the Lord in their places in life, but we are ever thankful to them for their examples of virtue. Now Scott would be laughing at me. But, it's true. He was a man of humility and unsung virtue. He was a patriot that will be sorely missed. May we, the people in Carol's life, be faithful to her hero by being in her corner through the inevitable valleys as her heart misses the biggest blessing in her and their daughters' ~ Jenna's and Kristin's ~ lives here on earth. May she feel the warmth of our love and the happiness of the memories of the years of love that she had shared with her man. As the Lord will comfort her and heal the hurt, we will be right by her side through it all Know you are loved, Carol. From all of us CVRWF girls We love you! SCOTT L.
