Mom was born in the home of her grandparents in Richmond, MO. It was a small house across the street from the main cemetery and is still there today. She lived in and around the KC Metro area until she was 14. Then she and her mother, Audrey, moved to San Diego, CA. This is where her mother met and married her last husband giving mom and her sister Patti an instant brother and sister (Kenny and Mickie). This is also where she met her lifelong friend Dianna and her former husband, Ed Kepner. Although the marriage ended after 27 years, it did produced me. LOL. Being a military wife, she had to adjust to alot of moving around until dad got a permanent station in the DC area summer of 1969 until his retirement in 1981. While living in Maryland, mom got a job with the then Equitable Trust Bank Corp. and worked her way from bookkeeping to loan dept. to Manager of the loan dept. to eventually Manager of a bank branch. In 1981 we all moved to Phoenix. There mom worked for and actuarial firm for two years before getting her final job with the Arizona State Banking Dept. as a bank examiner. Mom worked there until her retirement in 2006. Then she moved back to the KC Metro area to be close to me and her granddaughter Audrey. Mom loved to read and once retired, started quilting with a passion. Although she never liked to be the center of attention, she always made quite the impression on people and was loved by all who knew her.
