Yasuko Hacking was born in Kochi, Japan in 1957. She received a degree in architecture in Tokyo, Japan and moved to Utah, where she married Brian Hacking. In 1986, they welcomed a baby girl, Rose. Yasuko always wanted a family and was very happy to have a child. While the marriage did not last, her relationship with her daughter was always strong. In 1988, she moved to Hawaii and taught at Brigham Young University in Laie. After a few years there, she moved to Honolulu and had a business helping to repair computers. It was during this time that she found Enrich, now known as Unicity. Yasuko was always very brave and innovative and was very committed to the business. She helped to open up the Japan market and was a very successful businesswoman. As part of her job, she was able to travel often and enjoy meeting many wonderful people. After her daughter Rose graduated college, Yasuko wanted to move out of the city to enjoy some time near the ocean, where she loved to fish. She moved to Kona (the big island) a few years ago and really enjoyed a slower pace of life there. She often talked about new business ideas such as a cream puff store or a renewable energy company. Yasuko has been blessed with wonderful friends and family. While she worked very hard, she also enjoyed her time near the ocean and always saw Hawaii as her home. She will be loved and always missed by many.
